Fifth Sunday Mission
December 31, 2017
10:30 am Worship
Everyone is invited to join us to do some creative service projects for Emma’s Place. We will be tying fleece blankets for the residents. There will be a short worship service to be led by Lay Leader, Mike Evans, and the Raby Puppet Team.
Located in the heart of Maplewood, Emma’s Place offers permanent housing to single parents with three or more children. A wonderful community environment gives the residents of Emma’s Place a village in which to raise their children.
Townhomes include three or four bedrooms, two bathrooms, washer and dryer, full kitchen (including dishwasher), central air, snow removal and lawn care, rental subsidy, and plenty of room for a family to grow and strengthen. Emma’s Place is also home to a playground, basketball hoops, abundant outdoor space, a community center, a computer lab, garages and off-street parking.
Kids of all ages can benefit from afterschool and organized extramural activities including study groups, 4H, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, tutoring, family counseling, arts and crafts, and other social and educational opportunities.
Parents partner with case managers to develop their own goals and find resources to help achieve them. Support groups and services are available for women, children and families – each one designed for personal development and family development. Families also benefit from Maplewood Community Center memberships.
Housing is permanent and families may reside at Emma’s Place as long as they desire.
