Fun and Fellowship
Our Annual Turkey Dinner is on Palm Sunday each year. We raise some funds for the church as we enjoy a delicious, church roasted turkey dinner, with all the trimmings and homemade bars for dessert. There is a free will offering.
This year in May, we enjoyed a WOMEN’S RETREAT! We carpooled to Koinonia, a camp setting of the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, located near Annandale, MN.
On the 4th Wednesdays from May through early fall, we picnic together for lunch in our picnic shelter on the lawn. We meet there at noon with our bag lunches, and chat with the Pastor. It’s a good time for laughter and sharing, but also great if you have a concern about the church or suggestion for improving our lives together.
Youth – We have special service opportunities every 5th Sunday morning and seasonally. Watch the newsletter and calendar for info!
Each year on the third Sunday of September, we hold a BOOYA Festival, with plenty of good hot Booya (a stew made from various cuts of meat as well as many healthy vegetables and cooked outside for hours), pie and fun. There is a silent auction and bake sale along with it, and some games (such as a cake walk) for children and children at heart. In 2017, the Booya Festival is on September 17, beginning after worship at 11:30 am.
